The St. Louis Blues postponed its game against the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night after defenseman Jay Bouwmeester appeared to collapse on the bench.

First responders took Bouwmeetser off the ice. He has since been taken to the hospital, according to 101 ESPN Radio in St. Louis.

The ESPN affiliate added Bouwmeester was responsive when he was taken off the ice.

The Blues next game is scheduled for Thursday in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights.

Bouwmeester was part of the 2019 Blues team that won the Stanley Cup. He's spent the majority of his 17-year career with the Blues. Bouwmeester's been with the team since the 2012-2013 season.
