WEATHER ALERT DAY: Snow tapering off across mid-Missouri, cold air to cause morning impacts

SYNOPSIS:

Snow continues to rotate out of mid-Missouri this evening. Most snowfall will exit our eastern counties by 7pm.

Snow will continue to taper off with most of the area seeing 1-3" total storm accumulation by sundown.

In addition to the snowfall, temperatures stay below freezing with winds gusting up to 30 mph at times. This will keep wind chills in the single digits to low teens all day Saturday.

It will be bitterly cold tonight, with temperatures dropping into the middle teens. Winds will continue to be blustery. Winds chills will be in the single digits. Cold temperatures overnight will also cause any side roads/untreated areas to refreeze into the morning. Keep it slow through the morning commute.

Some sunshine and warmer temperatures will help improve conditions on Sunday.

FLOODING:

Yesterday's storms dropped heavy rain

Even though we're expecting a change over to a wintry mix, we're already dealing with some flooded roadways in Mid-Missouri this morning. Some places picked up 3-5" of rain according to radar.
