Three Glasgow city officials announce resignation this week
GLASGOW, Mo. (KMIZ)
Glasgow's mayor, city collector and public works superintendent have resigned.
The city's attorney confirmed the city offices were vacated on Monday and Thursday morning. Randall Barron said the Glasgow mayor and public works superintendent announced their resignation at a meeting Monday. He also said the city's collector resigned Thursday morning.
According to Barron, the resignations happened by chance.
"The fact that all three are resigning this week is a coincidence," Barron said.
Barron said the mayor's position will be put on April's municipal election. Glasgow alderman Chris Damron is currently serving as mayor pro-tem, according to Barron.
