Tracking spotty showers this afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Cloudy, with isolated storms popping up throughout the afternoon and evening. Highs remain near 80.

TONIGHT: Spotty showers and storms persist overnight, and temperatures fall to the 60s.

EXTENDED: Scattered rain continues through Thursday with a front stalled over the area, and a disturbance will track along this front on Thursday evening, increasing rain coverage and intensity. A 2/4 risk of flash flooding is in effect for Thursday and Friday for scattered flash flooding. Rain lasts through Saturday before the front finally lifts north, with as much as 3 to 4 inches of rain in parts of the area. Once the rain exits, summer heat quickly takes over next week, with daily highs in the 90s through the end of the month.
