Callaway County Sheriff’s Office names victims in January fire at Potawatomi Campgrounds

FULTON, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Callaway County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the two victims in a Jan. 16 fire at Potawatomi Campgrounds, just outside of Fulton.

Cathy and Gary Starkey perished in the fire, according to an email from Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Crystal Kent. The investigation is ongoing.

The Sheriff’s Office previously said two people were found dead in a home, along with an unknown number of dogs, previous reporting states. A criminal investigation was launched shortly after.

The Sheriff’s Office wrote in January that multiple fire departments and law enforcement agencies arrived when the residence was fully engulfed.
