Hallsville teen dies in Boone County crash

HALLSVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 17-year-old from Hallsville died after his vehicle overturned on a country road near Hallsville.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office says the teen driver was one of three people inside the vehicle when it went off the road and hit a tree at about 5 p.m. Sunday in the 11400 block of North Hecht Road. A 15-year-old girl from Boonville suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital, the sheriff's office says.

The third person, a 13-year-old girl from Hallsville, suffered minor injuries.

The sheriff's office did not release the teens' names, citing their age.
