Tracking warmer temperatures, rounds of storms on Friday

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild. Lows in the upper 50s to around 60.

TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy with a few showers or storms before noon into early afternoon. Another round is possible by evening that could bring some brief heavy down pours along with isolated gusty winds. Highs in the upper 70s to around 80.

EXTENDED: We're heading into a more active period with rounds of showers and storms possible over the weekend into next week. Southwest upper level flow will take hold and push a disturbance our way on Friday, with potentially 2 rounds of rain and storms on Friday. Storms have developed along a warm front out to our west and could impact us early on Friday. Depending on how long that lasts, we could see another round in the evening that could be on the verge of strong to severe, but that threat will be conditional on whether we can recover from the morning. Temperatures continue to rise over the weekend into the low to mid-80s with increasing humidity. Saturday looks to be largely dry, but we'll have plenty of instability to work with if storms can get going in the warm sector ahead of the late-weekend cold front. On Sunday, the cold front slowly begins to approach, and our storm chances will increase by late afternoon into the evening. Right now the coverage still looks somewhat scattered, so make sure to have our ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather App to keep an eye on the radar if you plan to be outside. Rain chances continue to increase on Monday into Tuesday, and we'll end up with about an inch or so of total rainfall. Temperatures next week will still be slightly above average in the upper 70s to around 80.
