Tracking scattered storms Thursday, some may bring hail
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with a few scattered storms late, especially along and north of I-70.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and warm with highs in the mid-70s. Scattered storms possible by afternoon with isolated hail. The best chance for storms in the evening will be along the warm front lifting north across northern Missouri.
EXTENDED: Clouds roll in tonight ahead of a warm front that will bring a few chances for storms and warmer temperatures to end the week. We'll remain near 50 degrees overnight with a few storms developing along the front. The best chance for strong storms on Thursday will be north of I-70 through the day, with the main concern being up to quarter size hail. A level 1 out of 5 severe risk is outlined for this area through Thursday night. Friday is looking even warmer with that front well to our north, pushing temperatures to near 80 with wind gusts up to 25-30 mph from the south. Saturday starts off dry with temperatures reaching the upper 70s. A few storms are possible ahead of a cold front in the afternoon, but conditions look more favorable for storms overnight into Sunday. Depending on the timing of the cold front, we could see severe storms by early afternoon on Sunday, but if the front is well to our east, most of the severe threat will be to our east across St. Louis, Illinois, and the Ohio Valley. Behind the front, temperatures drop dramatically with highs only making the lower 50s by Monday.
