Tracking a stormy Memorial Day afternoon

MEMORIAL DAY: Showers and storms have already begun popping up across the viewing area, and we expect them to continue developing throughout the rest of the afternoon. If you are going to be near a body of water, keep an eye on the radar and sky in the event that lightning strikes nearby. There is a small threat for hail development and gusty conditions as these storms move through mid-Missouri. Highs for the day will be in the low 80s, but a humidity factor may make the feels like temperature be slightly higher.

TONIGHT: Storms will die down but hang around throughout the night. Lows will fall into the mid to upper 60s.

EXTENDED: This pattern that we have established will continue throughout most of the week with warm, humid mornings giving way to stormy afternoons. We will see a slight cool down as we approach next weekend, and potentially, we could dry out as we head into the weekend.
