Tracking the return of rain on Thursday
TONIGHT: Becoming mostly clear with lows falling into the low 40s.
TOMORROW: More sunshine to start, with highs in the mid-upper 60s. Rain moves in by late afternoon and lasts through early Friday morning.
EXTENDED: Showers continue through early Friday as a cold front exits the region, leaving us with about 0.25" to 0.5" of total rainfall. Cool air sticks around for the rest of the day as highs only reach the upper 50s with gusty northwest winds. As skies clear, temperatures drop like a rock Friday night with diminishing winds. This will bring morning lows into the mid-30s on Saturday, allowing for patchy frost across parts of the area. We remain cooler than average but mainly dry over the weekend with highs in the low 60s. The cool pattern continues into next week with northwest upper level flow, with warmer air finally returning by Wednesday or Thursday of next week.
