Tracking a bright afternoon, spotty rain chances tomorrow

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly sunny and warm, with a high near 80.

TONIGHT: Isolated showers are possible after sunset, but almost everyone stays dry, with lows falling to the 60s.

EXTENDED: Spotty showers and storms remain possible on Wednesday as a cold front settles over the area, placing the jet stream overhead through Friday. Heavier rain is expected to move in along the front on Thursday and Friday, with rainfall totaling 1 to 3 inches by the week's end. The front finally lifts north on Saturday, bringing more heat and humidity with it. The heat index could climb as high as 100 degrees this weekend, and brutal summer heat looks to settle in for most of the extended forecast.
