Tracking another round of widespread rain and storms tomorrow
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with spotty showers. Mainly dry overnight with lows in the upper 40s.
TOMORROW: Rain and storms likely. A few storms in the afternoon and evening could produce small to quarter size hail, especially near I-44. Highs in the upper 50s.
EXTENDED: Showers begin to thin out a bit tonight, but it will be chilly as lows fall back into the upper 40s. Tomorrow is cool and gloomy yet again as rain returns by mid-morning, becoming more widespread across all of Mid-Missouri. In the afternoon, instability increases a bit over the area, particularly along and south of I-44. This could lead to a few storms that could produce small to quarter size hail through the evening. Heading into Saturday, another push of rain is expected along the stalled front to our south, reaching as far north as I-70 during the day. Rain exits early on Sunday, but a secondary cold front pushes in behind it, dropping temperatures into the 30s on Sunday morning and perhaps changing precipitation over to snow briefly. Highs reach the low 50s on Saturday and Sunday, and remain cooler than normal through Tuesday. Another mid-week front arrives Tuesday night into Wednesday, bringing another chance of light rain. Rain amounts will range from 1-2" from areas along and north of I-70, to 2-4" for points south. 4-5" is forecast along I-44, with even higher amounts across southern Missouri.
