Tracking a windy afternoon with a rain/ snow mixture overnight
TODAY: Wednesday is a warm start with temperatures starting the day in the 60s and falling into the 40s by the afternoon. Wind will be a focus of today's forecast as Wednesday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. These high winds may result in isolated damage, but will yield an areawide fire risk. Get the latest details in our ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day Blog.
TONIGHT: Showers will return through the afternoon and evening. As temperatures fall into the 30s around 7-9 p.m., snow will mix in. Snow will not accumulate in most cases, but in the most extreme case we may pick up minor dustings on elevated and grassy surfaces for a very short time period as temperatures will only be near freezing for a few hours before we warm on Thursday.
EXTENDED: Winds will calm through the day on Thursday. We'll be mostly sunny with a high near 50. Friday will be breezy and mild again, with highs back in the 60s. This may lead to a fire threat once again. Saturday is sunny and 60 by the afternoon. We'll pick up a chance for rain and a few storms on Sunday ahead of a quiet and mild start to next week.
