Tracking strong afternoon winds before warming into the weekend

TODAY: Wednesday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert day for wind gusts areawide as high as 50 mph, with some possibly reaching 60 mph, this morning. Get the latest on this wind storm, and the quick dose of snow that comes along with it in our Weather Alert Day Blog. Temperatures will fall all day into the low 30s by the afternoon. Wind chills will remain in the teens much of the day. Snow will taper off shortly after noon in Columbia, and by the dinner hour in Montgomery City.

TONIGHT: Clear skies return tonight, temperatures fall into the 20s, and winds will relax.

EXTENDED: Thursday starts with sunshine, but clouds move in to make us mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Expect a high in the 40s. Friday brings a chance for showers, possibly as soon as Thursday overnight into Friday morning, but another round is possible in the evening. Highs on Friday may reach 50s with a bout of some south wind. By the weekend, more quiet weather is forecast. Sunshine and 50s expected Saturday and Sunday.
