Tracking light snow Monday morning, winter storm pegged for Tuesday
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cold with lows around 10 degrees. Flurries possible late.
TOMORROW: Light snow for areas north of I-70 through about noon. Accumulation between a dusting and 1". Highs in the lower 20s.
EXTENDED: Our next low pressure system approaches from the west on Monday night, bringing light snow before midnight, becoming more widespread and heavy, especially along and south of I-70 throughout the day. Snow showers will continue through very early Wednesday morning. Along with the accumulating snow, we'll have dangerous cold with wind chills between -10 and -15 between Tuesdya and Thursday mornings. We'll see wind chills around -5 on Friday morning. Snowfall amounts will be between 2-5" north of I-70, around 4-7" along the I-70 corridor, and 5-9" along and south of Highway 50. 8-10" is possible near the Lake of the Ozarks and I-44. Road impacts are likely through Wednesday as we likely won't see any melting until the weekend. Temperatures remain in the teens during the day through Thursday before warming into the 20s on Friday and 30s on Saturday.
