Clouds and rain building into parts of mid-Missouri this afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Clouds will continue to increase this afternoon as an upper-level low-pressure system continues to pivot in from the west. Temperatures will actually fall throughout the day as moisture continues to build in and cool the atmosphere. Rain will start near the Lake of the Ozarks around noon and creep to the northeast through the afternoon. Steady rainfall along and south of I-70 will continue for much of the evening. Cities north of Moberly will likely stay mostly dry.

TONIGHT: Showers stick around through the night. Overnight lows fall into the low 50's.

EXTENDED: Rain departs early on Thursday with sunshine attempting to make a return by the afternoon. Temperatures will make it into the upper 60's with some threatening 70 if we can get some sun. Rain returns on Friday, but appears to be slightly more scattered in coverage. Same applies to this round with a few rumbles of thunder possible, but nothing severe. Rain looks to hold on east of HWY 63 into Saturday morning before sliding east, but it will be a cool day with highs in the upper 50's. A steady northwesterly breeze won't help matters with gusts up around 25 mph. More rain chances look possible Sunday but at least appear light, with another system moving in next week.
