Tracking a big weekend warmup
TODAY: Friday brings cooler air to the region, behind a couple of mild days around midweek. Expect a high just near 60 with high pressure sliding in from the north. Winds are from the north most of the day, thanks to us being primarily on the cool side of the high through the day, but overnight things change.
TONIGHT: We'll cool to near 40 by sunrise Saturday, meaning some in the north could see frost. Winds will switch from the south by sunrise.
EXTENDED: South winds boost temperatures into the high 60s to low 70s. Abundant sunshine helps with this. Sunday will be warmer as we pick up southerly flow, pushing highs into the 80s. This may bring enough moisture to drive showers Monday morning. A cold front will wring the atmosphere of all the moisture that it can. The front will leave us with a high in the 60s on Monday. Next week will be mild, with rain chances again by Wednesday night.
