TODAY: Wednesday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert day for wind gusts areawide as high as 50 mph, with some possibly reaching 60 mph, this morning. Get the latest on this wind storm, and the quick dose of snow that comes along with it in our Weather Alert Day Blog. Snow will complicate the morning commute, with up to an inch expected up and down HWY 63 from Moberly to Columbia to Jefferson City, and over to California. With this system's pivot and path, this is where snow will linger the longest before exiting. An isolated 1-2" total is possible in this band. This will come through the morning, complicating travel, but not making it impossible to get around. You'll want to give yourself extra time to get to work or school. Temperatures will fall all day into the low 30s by the afternoon. Wind chills will remain in the teens much of the day. Snow will taper off shortly after noon in Columbia, and by the dinner hour in Montgomery City.

TONIGHT: Clear skies return tonight, temperatures fall into the 20s, and winds will relax.

EXTENDED: Thursday starts with sunshine, but clouds move in to make us mostly cloudy by the afternoon. Expect a high in the 40s. Friday brings a chance for showers, possibly as soon as Thursday overnight into Friday morning, but another round is possible in the evening. Highs on Friday may reach 50s with a bout of some south wind. By the weekend, more quiet weather is forecast. Sunshine and 50s expected Saturday and Sunday.
