Tracking a warmup into Easter Weekend

TODAY: We're overcast on Tuesday, as the wrap-around portion of the exiting low pressure system lingers overhead. This may also bring some sprinkles and/or snow flakes with temperatures starting in the 30s and warming only to near 40 at best. It's possible that some of us get stuck in the 30s. Sprinkles, drizzle, and any snow flakes should wrap up into the afternoon. We'll be breezy at times, especially through the morning, with winds sustained near 15-20 mph gusting to 30.

TONIGHT: Clouds, especially low clouds, will clear overnight. We will likely have mid-to-high level clouds, but the absence of that low deck may lead to some extra cooling. We'll have temperatures in the 20s to start the day Wednesday, with light northwest winds.

EXTENDED: Wednesday sees the return of sunshine and southwest winds. This climbs temperatures back into the 50s by late afternoon. Our warmup will expand with more sun and south breeze into the end of the work week. Expect 60s Thursday, and 70s on Friday. Clouds build on Friday, as we see a better defined warm front lift just north of the region, likely triggering showers and storms to our northeast into the evening. We'll see slim chances for precipitation here, and again Saturday night, as another boundary sets up across the region. This looks to leave Friday and Saturday mostly warm and dry, but better rain chances return for Easter Sunday, with the stalled front triggering rain chances before lifting north, warming us into Monday ahead of another round of rain. This is very broadly what the setup looks like, but there's still great uncertainty in exactly how the forecast plays out, so stay tuned to the forecast for Easter weekend. Don't cancel the egg hunts just yet, but maybe develop a contingency plan.
