Mizzou football trio gets Coaches’ Preseason All-SEC honors
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Three Mizzou football players earned preseason All-SEC honors by a vote of the league coaches.
Preseason All-American, Harrison Mevis earned a spot on the first team.
His 19 field goals from at least 30 yards last year are the most by a returning kicker, as are the 14 of those that came from at least 40 yards out. His 88.9% career accuracy rate is the best by an active kicker with at least 40 career attempts.
Graded as the third-best SEC tackle in run blocking by PFF, Javon Foster was named to the second team.
In 2021, he was a big part of the offensive line that blocked for running back Tyler Badie, who led the SEC in rushing attempts (268), yards (1,604), touchdowns (18) and yards per game (133.7).
Kris Abrams-Draine is a third team honoree who has played in 18 career games, including 10 starts at defensive back in 2021.
A year ago, he led the team in passes broken up with seven and hauled in three interceptions. He also had a 100-yard kick return for a touchdown against Tennessee.
