Scheffler’s return to No. 1 illustrates dominance of Woods

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Getting to No. 1 in the world is difficult enough. Staying there for an entire year is even tougher. Unless your name is Tiger Woods. The change at the top of the world ranking means that Woods remains the last player to start the year at No. 1 and stay there until the end of December. That was in 2009. Woods was No. 1 for an entire calendar year eight times. Only two others have done that since the world ranking began in 1986. Nick Faldo did it in 1993 and Greg Norman did it in 1996.
