Ahmad Hardy back in Columbia, after being released from Mississippi hospital

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Mizzou football spokesperson said that Mizzou running back Ahmad Hardy is back in Columbia. That comes after he was released from a hospital, on Tuesday, in Mississippi after getting shot at a concert on Sunday.

The team did not have any updates on when the Mississippi native will be able to return to football activities, but ESPN insider Pete Thamel reported that, according to his sources, Hardy will begin rehabbing immediately with the goal of playing in 2026.

This comes after Hardy was hospitalized with a gunshot wound to his upper leg, after shots rang out at a concert at the Kamakazy Bike Club in Laurel, Mississippi between 1-2 a.m. on Sunday morning.

After being taken the hospital, Hardy had surgery on his leg and has been in recovery.

The Laurel Police Department told ABC 17 that it had detained three persons of interest in the case, but those people have since been released. There have been no other arrests made.
