Dennis Gates picks up big man from portal

Dennis Gates made a new addition to next years roster Sunday evening in big man Jesus Carralero from Campbell University. The news was originally reported on Twitter by Eric Bossi with 247 Sports.

The 6-foot-8 forward, originally from Spain, spent three years at Campbell averaged 7.5 points and 3.9 rebounds per game. He was averaging 10.6 points and 5.2 boards through five games this season before suffering a season-ending wrist injury.

During his 2021-2022 campaign, Carralero finished in the top 10 in Big South Conference in rebounds, steals, assists and blocks. His connection to Missouri teams back to his senior year of high school which was spent at Link Year Prep in Branson.

Carralero marks the fifth transfer MU has taken on this offseason, but the first forward.
