Mizzou lands No. 7 seed in NCAA Tournament; headed to Sacramento
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The NCAA Tournament Selection Committee granted the Mizzou men's basketball team a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers will head to Sacramento, Calif. to meet No. 10-seeded Utah State.
MU will tip off at 12:40 CT against thee Aggies. It will be the third time in MU history that the Tigers will meet Utah State.
It is Mizzou's first NCAA Tournament appearance since the 2020-21 season. The Tigers have fallen in the first game of the Big Dance in both of its last two outings. Head coach Dennis Gates will look to change that in Sacramento.
The No. 7 seed is MU's highest since 2012, marking just the fourth time in 29 season that Mizzou has been seeded higher than No. 8. Overall, Mizzou owns 22 victories in the NCAA Tournament, advancing as far as the Elite Eight five times in its history (1944, 1976, 1994, 2002 and 2009).
