Mizzou ends the regular season with a home win on Senior Day

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou men's basketball team ended the regular season a high note at Mizzou Arena with a 82-77 win over Ole Miss on Senior Day.

With the win, the Tigers clinch the fourth seed in the SEC tournament. This is the first time in Mizzou history that the group has a double bye in the conference tournament.

The game went down to the wire, but key shots down the stretch from D'Moi Hodge, DeAndre Gholston and Noah Carter put it out of reach for the rebels.

Mizzou was led by senior forward Kobe Brown with 17 points and seven rebounds and Carter also finshed with 17 points and four boards. Gholston finished with 15 points and Hodge with 14. Nick Honor led the team with five assists.

Hodge set the single-season record for steals in the last game at LSU and added five more against Ole Miss.

The stat sheet was pretty similar between these two teams. The Rebels had a slight advantage on the boards with 29 rebounds compared to Mizzou's 26. MU shot slightly better from beyond the arc shooting 30% from three compared to the Rebels' 23%.

With the win the Tigers end the regular season at 23-8 and 11-7 in SEC play. Saturday's game was another sell-out crowd at Mizzou Arena and the Tigers finished the season 16-3 on their home court.

Up next - MU will head to the SEC tournament in Nashville where the group will have two byes after finishing fourth in the conference. The Tigers will start play in the quarterfinals on March 10.
