Mizzou prepares for road contest at Mississippi State
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Mizzou men's basketball team will roll into Starkville, Miss. on a three-game winning streak on Saturday.
Head coach Dennis Gates said the Tigers' matchup against the Bulldogs will not be an easy one.
"They do a great job of, offensively, doing the things that they need to do, whether it's to post feed or make the shots or attack the paint," he said. "They essentially play a style that I think has, without a doubt, produced great defensive numbers. Whenever you can do that, you look at what you do offensively and defensively and they do those things."
MU's latest win streak includes at top-15 upset against then-No. 12 Iowa State. The Tigers have also beat Ole Miss and LSU over the past week.
Senior Kobe Brown is on a hot stretch heading into this game. Over the past five outings, Brown has racked up more than 100 points, including 26 in the win against LSU on Wednesday.
"His work ethic matches where he wants to go and what he wants to accomplish. He lives in the moment and not too far ahead of himself. That takes the pressure off the big picture and he's a great communicator when it comes down to identifying things that he can get better at," Gates said.
Tip off against the Bulldogs is at 5 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum on Saturday.
