Columbia businesses to participate in Small Business Saturday

Many businesses across Columbia are set to participate in Small Business Saturday, as shoppers across the country support smaller businesses during the biggest shopping weekend of the year.

According to Census data, $19.8 billion dollars were spent in small businesses across the country during Small Business Saturday in 2020.

The District in Columbia also encourages shoppers to shop local and said, "Small businesses are like snowflakes, each one is unique. One small purchase can make a big difference." The District went on to say in a post on its website, "Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting small businesses on the busiest shopping weekend of the year."

Curations573 is set to host a Small Business Saturday Marketplace in Columbia, to showcase many small businesses across the city.

The event is set to take place from noon on Saturday until 5 p.m., at 1103 E. Walnut Street.

Businesses participating in the marketplace include:

  • Red Barn Meats
  • Lou Clothing Co.
  • Clean Refill
  • Eclectic Ali
  • 4 Kids and a Mom
  • Dina Lou's Gifts
  • Dream Nails Now
  • Artchica
  • Lularoe
  • Pedigree Pawdicure

The District asks residents on its website to pledge to support small businesses on Saturday, with a list available of all small businesses in Columbia.
