Teenager killed in Gasconade County crash

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 17-year-old boy was killed in a Gaconade County crash Wednesday on Highway 19, about a half mile south of Aufderheide Road, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The report states that the Berger, Missouri, teenager was driving a 2010 Ford northbound when it went off the right side of the road. The driver overcorrected, drove into oncoming traffic and was hit by a tractor-trailer that was driven by a 62-year-old Sunrise Beach man, the report says.

Both vehicles went off the roadway and caught fire, the report says. The driver of the tractor-trailer was wearing a seatbelt and had minor injuries, the report says. An ambulance brought him to Capital Region Medical Center.

The report says it is not known if the boy wore a seatbelt. His body was brought to Toedtmann And Grosse Funeral Home, the report says.

Both vehicles were totaled.

MSHP reports do not name the victims in crashes.
