La Plata woman seriously injured in crash after trying to avoid deer
LA PLATA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A La Plata woman was seriously injured on Tuesday in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 156, about three miles east of La Plata, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
According to the crash report, Susan Calef, 70, was heading westbound in her 1998 Buick Regal when she swerved the vehicle to avoid a deer. The vehicle then went off the road, the report says.
Calef was wearing a seatbelt, the report states. She was flow to University Hospital in Columbia.
The Buick had extensive damage, the report states.
