17-year-old seriously injured in Boone County crash

STURGEON, Mo (KMIZ)

A 17-year-old driver suffered serious injuries last week in a crash on Thomas Hill Road near Tucker School Road near Sturgeon, according to a Boone County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

A passenger car was traveling eastbound on Thomas Hill Road on Wednesday, May 22, when the driver lost control of the vehicle, went off the roadway and hit a tree, according to an email from Capt. Brian Leer of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.

Leer stated that the youth was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The driver was brought to an area hospital with serious injuries. Leer said

The driver was not named. Leer stated that the driver was the vehicle's only occupant.
