Driver arrested after crash early Monday morning in east Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol says a driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after a crash Monday morning.

Boone County Joint Communications initially sent an alert about the crash in the 4000 Block of East Route WW near El Chaparral Avenue shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday. The message said the roadway was closed.

Troopers at the scene said the car crossed the center of the roadway and overturned. According to the highway patrol, the driver suffered minor injuries. Troopers arrested the driver at the scene.

ABC 17 News crews saw a tow truck removing the car from the side of the road shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday.
