Man seriously injured after being hit by a car on Highway 63

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man is seriously injured after getting hit by a vehicle as he was walking across Highway 63 Monday evening.

According to a release by Columbia police, Steven Ledbetter walked into the path of a 2003 Honda Accord on the highway.

Officials report Ledbetter was taken by EMS to a local hospital for his injuries.

Police report Ledbetter may have been impaired due to drugs or alcohol.

Police also report the weather may have been a factor in the crash as well.

This is an ongoing investigation.
