No evidence found after MU Alert of shots heard near Downtown Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police say officers did not locate anything at the scene after getting reports of shots heard near Downtown Columbia early Saturday morning.

An MU Alert was sent out just before 2 a.m. Saturday. The alert states, "CPD reports shots heard at/near Walnut and College. Urgent/Stay away from area. No additional alerts will be provided unless threat impacts campus."

No additional alerts were sent.

In an email to ABC 17 News, Columbia Police spokesperson Sarah Yoro-Massad said that officers responded to a report of shots fired in that area just after 1:30 a.m. Police did not locate anything at the scene.
