Bunceton man dead after Cooper County crash Saturday evening

A Bunceton man died after a crash Saturday evening in Cooper County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

The crash report states that a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Drew Davis, 25, of Bunceton - was driving southbound on Old Concord Road, a gravel road South of 8179 Old Concord.

A 2003 Ford Ranger, driven by James O'Neal, 70, of Bunceton, was driving northbound when both cars hit head-on in the center of the road. Both cars came to a stop in the middle of the road and became engulfed in flames, according to the report.

O'Neal was pronounced dead at the scene and taken to Howard Funeral Home. Davis suffered moderate injuries and refused to be treated at the scene, the report states.

The report states neither of the men were wearing seatbelts.

This is Troop F's 27th deadly crash in 2024.
