Driver charged in fatal December wreck in Boonville

BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boonville man is charged with DWI - death of another and 1st degree involuntary manslaughter after a fatal wreck in December.

Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the wreck just before 9:30 on US Highway 40.

According to court documents, Richard Nichols was driving in the eastbound lane of Highway 40 and crossed over into the westbound lane hitting Ryan Scott's car.

Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to court documents, Nichols gave a preliminary breath test and blew .123%.

Nichols has a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
