Two Jefferson City men charged in connection with April shooting
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Two Jefferson City men are facing charges in connection with an April 9 shooting at a gas station on the 800 block of Stadium.
A Cole County prosecutor has charged Vron Blassingame and Kristopher Johnson with unlawful use of a weapon - shooting at/from a moving vehicle and armed criminal action. Johnson is also charged with resisting arrest.
On April 23, a vehicle was pulled over after it left a house where a suspect's vehicle was located. Blassingame and Johnson were in the vehicle when it was pulled over. Johnson was arrested after resisting arrest, according to the probable cause statement.
Police found a gun inside the vehicle. The bullets inside the gun matched the shell casing recovered from the April 9th shooting.
According to a probable cause statement, Blassingame told investigators after being read his Miranda rights, that he was driving a silver Honda at the time of the shooting, but denies hearing the shooting occurred.
Johnson and Blassingame both do not have a defense attorney listed, according to online court records.
Both men have a warrant issued for their arrest. It isn't clear Wednesday night whether they were in custody.
