University of Missouri classes resume after internet outage

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The University of Missouri Division of IT says it has resolved an hours-long internet outage that postponed all classes before noon on Thursday.

The university said in a subsequent update that classes resumed at noon.

MU posted a message on social media at about 10 a.m. saying that all classes before noon had been canceled because of the campus-wide outage. The school had earlier canceled all 9 a.m. classes because of the outage.

A website that reports the status of the campus information technology systems said just before 10 a.m. that systems were starting to come back online.

An earlier post on the MU IT website said Microsoft and Zoom should be available for off-campus use.

It's unclear what caused the outage.
