Columbia man charged in Friday morning shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man is now charged for allegedly shooting a man in the 3500 block of Greeley Drive last Friday.

In the court document, Anthony Jones was looking for money from someone at a home on Greeley Drive and went to the front door.

According to court documents, Jones had a confrontation with the victim and the victim shut a door in Jones' face.

That is when Jones shot thru the door and a bullet hit the victim according to the probable cause statement.

According to court documents, the victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. In court documents, it says the victim coded twice while officers were on scene.

Jones is charged with 1st degree assault and armed criminal action.

According to online court documents, the court issued no bond to Jones because it says it "finds that no bond amount sufficient to protect the victim."
