Columbia man accused of threatening to kill police officer

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Columbia man has been charged after he allegedly threatened to kill a police officer.
Eugy Ngassi-Koumo, 27, was charged on Thursday with first-degree harassment and second-degree making a terroristic threat. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.
The probable cause statement says that Ngassi-Koumo called Boone County Joint Communications on Thursday to ask when the victim worked and dispatchers said they were a dayshift officer. Ngassi-Koumo asked to relay a message, in which he threatened to kill the officer, court documents say.
The officer was a detective when they arrested Ngassi-Koumo in 2015 “for furnishing pornographic material,” court documents say. He was upset about the arrest showing up on background checks, according to the statement.
Ngassi-Koumo had pleaded guilty in 2017 to two counts of misdemeanor harassment by any communication to cause emotional distress stemming from a 2015 incident, according to court records. He was sentenced to and completed two years of supervised probation, court records show.
The officer allegedly said that they had knowledge of the call and court documents say that the officer had received other death threats from Ngassi-Koumo.
