Police investigate stabbing in north Columbia

Columbia police investigated a stabbing in north Columbia on Thursday night.

At least five police vehicles responded to the 1200 block of Elleta Boulevard around 6:15 p.m.

A police officer at the scene said an 18-year-old man was stabbed. He was taken to a local hospital and is stable. Police said the suspect is believed to be a minor and that the public is not at risk.

The incident happened at the Bear Creek Townhomes complex operated by the Columbia Housing Authority. Randy Cole with CHA said that a man was stabbed by his younger brother. He also said the man had one cut and has been released from the hospital.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw a drone flying over a wooded area and saw officers going into the trees with flashlights.

Police left the scene around 9 p.m.
