Police are looking for a “vehicle of interest” in relation to a Fulton teenager’s death, Fulton Police Chief Bill Ladwig told ABC 17 News on Tuesday.

Police wrote on Monday that Mason Sheets, 17, was found on Sunday night with gunshot wounds in a vehicle near South Business 54 and Commons Drive. Sheets died from his injuries at the scene, police wrote. A girl at the scene was taken into custody, police said on Monday.

A description of the vehicle was not given to ABC 17 News. Fulton police have followed up on more than 80 leads in the case, Ladwig said.

A Mid-Missouri Major Case squad was activated because of the amount of leads. The Audrain County Sheriff's Office said in a post on Facebook that 20 investigators from six different agencies are assigned to the case.
