Texas man accused in 2004 Boone County rape case

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A man who now lives in Texas has been charged after he was accused of breaking into a residence in 2004 and raping another person.

Brendan Woodard was charged Tuesday with forcible rape. He was not listed on the Boone County Jail roster on Wednesday. A motion was filed to set a $10,000 bond. No court dates have been set.

The victim – after the assault – went to a hospital for a sexual assault exam, according to the probable cause statement. In March 2022, the sexual assault kit was sent to a lab and a DNA profile was developed, which led to a DNA match with Woodard, the statement says.

The detective checked different databases and determined that Woodard was living in Columbia in 2004, according to the probable cause statement.
