MUPD has new online portal for public comments

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The University of Missouri Police Department has announced – in a Tuesday press release -- a new public comment portal.

The portal is part of a new standard required by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, according to the release. Feedback made through the portal will go directly to CALEA.

The CALEA accreditation is for four years, the release states. In 2019, MUPD was reaccredited for the seventh time.

MUPD has provided an online public portal for feedback that goes directly to the MU police department. The purpose of the new public portal – according to the release -- is to receive comments regarding agency's compliance with CALEA standards, engagement in the service community, delivery of public safety services and overall candidacy for accredited status.
