Columbia man charged with domestic assault after allegedly punching woman in face several times
COLUMBIA, Mo.
A Columbia man is charged with first-degree domestic assault after allegedly punching a woman in the face about a dozen times and threatening to kill her.
Isom Roberts, 33, had an initial court appearance set for Friday. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond.
Police were called to a hotel for a physical disturbance on Thursday. An officer found Roberts in the Mosers parking lot on North Keene Street -- walking away from the Suburban Extended Stay – with blood on his hands, according to the probable cause statement.
The victim at the hotel told police she was terrified, according to the probable cause statement. Police said she was bleeding from multiple spots on her face and had blood on other parts of her body. Both of the victim’s eyes were swollen enough to where she could not open them, according to the statement. Her nose was also apparently broken.
The woman allegedly told police that Roberts went into their room, accused her of cheating on him and then punched her in the face 10-15 times, the statement says. Roberts then allegedly choked her for four minutes and threatened to kill her.
