Victim in weekend Boone County shooting dies

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The man shot over the weekend in a neighborhood just outside southwest Columbia has died, the Boone County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.

Sam Baldwin IV, 31, of Columbia, succumbed to his injuries after he was shot Saturday in the 4300 block of West Bellview Drive off Scott Boulevard. Investigators have not given a motive for the shooting, which also injured a 5-year-old child, or named any suspects.

The sheriff's office said over the weekend that the child's injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Baldwin was also injured in a 2019 shooting that killed Nadria Wright, 18.
