Columbia woman dies after being hit by vehicle
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia police say a local woman died Sunday night after a vehicle hit her along Paris Road.
Officers were sent to a report of a person on the side of the road in the 3300 block of Paris Road at about 10:20 p.m., the Columbia Police Department said in a news release. Officers started CPR on the woman, Christine Marie Horn, 46, according to the release.
Police determined a vehicle hit Horn and drove away. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but later died, CPD says.
Officers found debris at the scene that might have been left behind by a newer-model Volkswagen Jetta, according to the release. The Jetta would have damage on the front bumper or the quarter panel on the passenger side, CPD says.
CPD's Crash Investigation Unit continues to look into the crash.
