Court order suspends all evictions in Boone County, Callaway County

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Some Mid-Missouri residents will be reliant on a new order that went into effect last week as many have been impacted by COVID-19.

The order from 13th Circuit Presiding Judge Kevin Crane suspended all evictions in Boone County and Callaway County through April 17.

Crane's order also left it up to the head of each law enforcement agency to decide whether or not to arrest people on warrants for failure to appear in court.

ABC 17 reached out to Crane who was unavailable for comment, however Boone County Court Administrator Mary Epping said, "the order was written taking into consideration law enforcement's interaction with the public and the pandemic."
