Missouri woman dead after crash blocks highway in Cooper County
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Kirksville, Missouri, woman was killed in a head-on crash that shut down a country highway in Cooper County on Monday.
The crash happened on Route J near Bunceton.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol report says Nicole Wilson, 37, of Kirskville was driving eastbound on Route J when she crossed the center line and hit a Dodge Ram 3500 head-on in her Toyota sedan. She was pronounced dead at the scene Monday morning.
The driver of the truck, Jonathon Kuschel, 41, of Tipton, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital by ambulance.
A passenger in the Toyota, Amanda Zingarelli, 43, of Columbia had moderate injuries and was taken to University Hospital by helicopter.
Zingarelli and Kuschel were not wearing seatbelts, the report says. Wilson was wearing a seatbelt.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said in a social media post at about 11 a.m. that Route J east of Bunceton was blocked because of the crash. The post said the road would be closed for "an extended period of time" but didn't provide other details.
