COLUMBIA MO. (KMIZ)

The National Institute of Criminal Justice Reform is set to release its reports on violence in Columbia on Thursday afternoon.

At 1 p.m. the NICJR is expected to release its reports titled "Gun Violence Problem Analysis" and "Community Violence Landscape Analysis".

The reports are expected to highlight "gaps" in violence prevention and give recommendations for how the City can do more to fill them.

In January, city leaders started working with the NICJR in an attempt to curb violent crime in the community in partnership with the Columbia Police Department.

This is a developing story. Check back later for updates.
