CMHS seeks foster families after virus outbreak

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The Central Missouri Humane Society is looking for more people who can foster animals as it deals with a pneumovirus outbreak.
A Thursday press release from CMHS says that the shelter is facing space constraints and an increase in upper respiratory illnesses, including pneumovirus in its dog population.
CMHS says its facility “lacks dedicated isolation areas or proper airflow to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses.”
Residents can sign up to foster animals on CMHS’ website, emailing michelle@cmhspets.org or by calling (573) 443-7387 ext. 203.
